Privacy policy

How the Caustica Design documentation site and the caustica-design npm package handle information. Written in plain English. Last updated: 5 August 2026. This is not legal advice.

Short version

  • The docs site is mostly static HTML/CSS/JS.
  • We do not sell your data or run ads.
  • The caustica-design package does not phone home or include tracking.
  • On first visit we show a consent banner linking to Privacy, Terms, and Cookies.
  • Accept may remember your theme across visits (local storage). Essential only remembers that choice only; theme may use session storage for this tab so docs pages do not flash (clears when the tab closes). We do not store theme until you choose Accept or Essential only.
  • Your host (for example GitHub Pages) may keep normal server logs.

What we collect

Information Where Why
Consent choice (Accept / Essential only) Your browser local storage (caustica-design-consent) Remember your choice and hide the banner
Theme (light / dark) — across visits Your browser local storage (caustica-design-theme) Optional preference — only if you chose Accept
Theme (light / dark) — this tab Your browser session storage (caustica-design-theme) Essential UI continuity after you choose Accept or Essential only — keeps theme while you navigate docs in this tab; clears when the tab closes; not used for ads or tracking
Email and message content Our inbox, if you write to us Reply to your question
IP address, browser, pages requested Hosting / CDN logs (for example GitHub Pages) Security, uptime, abuse prevention — under the host’s policy

We do not require an account. We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar trackers in the docs source today. If that changes, we will update this page first.

How we use information

  • Run and secure the documentation site
  • Respect your consent and theme preferences
  • Answer email you send us
  • Improve docs when you report problems (only what you choose to share)

We do not use your information for advertising profiles.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited information only when:

  • A service provider processes it for us (hosting, email) under their own terms — for example GitHub or your email provider
  • The law requires it, or we must protect rights and safety
  • You ask us to (for example you open a public GitHub issue)

How long we keep it

  • Local storage — stays on your device until you clear it or change preferences
  • Email — kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted or archived in the normal course of inbox management
  • Host logs — follow the host’s retention rules (often days or weeks)

Security

We use HTTPS when the site is served over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Report security issues privately using SECURITY.md.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example GDPR in the EU/UK, or similar laws), you may have rights to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Ask for a correction
  • Ask us to delete data we control
  • Object to or limit certain processing
  • Complain to a data protection authority

For this static site we usually hold little beyond email you chose to send. To exercise a right, email ali.adel20120@gmail.com. You can clear browser local storage yourself at any time.

Children

This site is for developers and designers. It is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change practices (for example we add analytics), we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Important changes may also appear in the consent banner or site footer.
